I have a GT8 that took me 6 months to learn how to use... lol (it was my first Boss multi-effector) I can get good distortion and overdrive tones, but the clean tones are a bit weak and "plastic" sounding...

When the GT10 first came out, I was really hoping they had improved the clean tones. Many people claim the GT10 sounds better, but when I demo'd a GT10, I didn't notice any improvement, at least not with the tones I compared.

In my experience, the preset clean tones on the GT10 sounded exactly the same as those on my GT8.

One nice feature the GT10 has over the GT8 is the USB out. With my GT8, I had to buy a special MIDI interface so I could deep-edit the patches. I believe the USB connectivity of the GT10 means you can do deep editing without any special interface, and it should be much easier to record the GT10 direct to your computer too, no special sound card required.

Maybe with some tweaking you could get better clean tones with the GT10, but I didn't hear a big difference straight out of the box.

I do like my GT8, and through a tube amp that has it's own quality clean tone, the GT8 opens up a lot of doors. Now that the GT10 is out, the GT8's are going really cheap. I'm thinking of getting another GT8 as a backup to my first one.
