I tried to love the EMG pups, but to no avail.. is there such a thing as a sound that's 'too clean'? the black plastic covers don't do much for the aesthetics either. To be fair, they sound great if using solid state amps, but I find they don't mix so well with tubes. I guess I just prefer it rough and sloppy, with lots of barks and growling.
