The more I look around at other possibilities for PUPs, the more I think that it might just be easier and better to stay stock. THe original PUPs are part of the guitar in the first place, and like some of you have noted, why buy the thing if you are not completely happy with it. I own a MIM Tele that came with one stock PUP and one Li'l 59er. I am thinking of changing the neck PUP, but the more I think about it, why not change the Li'l 59er and just get Fender PUP. It is cheaper than getting a boutique pickup and I will get a genuine Tele sound.
I suppose if you own one with stock PUPs you just need patience to get your sound. I have been learning slowly but surely there are a lot of things you can do with volume and tone knobs on the guitar.
