i removed the hidden pole pieces from the underside of the neck pickup becuz it seemed just way too bassy and muffled, with little definition on the lower 3 strings. this had a huge effect and improvement in my opinion, id say it sounds better then the bridge pickup now (also my opinion) and creates an interesting albeit pretty stark contrast between the two pickups now as well.

i havent touched the pots, i doubt i will as i like it just how it is now. it seems removing the pole pieces is actually alot quicker and easier to do (took me about 15 mins) than doing the pots but im no tech and def not an expert by any means.

anyway, i really like these teles, i think they look cool and sound even better with a few finishing touches...i may get around to the pots at some point but for now ill leave it as it is...anyway, enjoy. it seems these guys around here have a wealth of info on teles and guitars in general, ive been lurking around here almost daily since i found about this site.

all my questions have been answered quickly and pretty damn well id have to say....

hidden polepieces? can you explain and maybe show a pic?
