The first older Ampeg I played only possessed two "qualities" big and loud. It was my dad's amp and he traded another amp for it. Country music was kind of going through some changes at the time and he wanted something different.

Now, the rest of the story: The amp he traded was a TWIN REVERB

I've only played that one and one other older ampeg and I wasn't blown away by either of them. They seem like they had no mids at all. Just muddy bass and ice-pick highs. Maybe I just played bad ones.
