I guess this is a supergroup, since all the members were already well known for something else when it came about. I really love the first Audioslave album (self-titled). People always describe it as Rage Against the Machine meets Soundgarden (the groups the band members were in before), but I don't think that does it enough credit. It's more like the guys from Rage applying their playing to songs, rather than riffs and grooves. All that with Chris Cornell's great lyrics and singing on top.
