I originally got mine as an acoustic amp for doing restaurant gigs with a classical guitar, and for that purpose it was great. I am not totally happy with it as my main amp with my tele, but I am sitting in with a band tomorrow night and will try out the mid tone knob trick!!
I wonder how much of a differnce the 10 inch speakers make compared to the 12's in the JC-120?

Well, I typically play in my house, and I cannot get the JC-77 up past the 2 on the volume dial before it gets painfully loud. So between the 1-3 on either, I cannot see a difference. I love that the JC-77 is going to be a lot more portable and user friendly than the bigger one, and that may lead to my throwing it in the backseat and bringing it along as opposed to making excuses as to why I could not... I did not try the Tone trick last night, but will try and check it out tonight. Were you able to give it a whirl?
