I have been playing my Tele through a JC-120 but recently made a trade for a JC-77

My 120 had a scratchy crackle that seemed to come from the input jack. Apparently there is a fix via re-soldering a connection, but it seemed odd to me that both inputs would elicit this annoying crackle. I mentioned it to the owner of the little music store I frequent and one of the instructors that teaches there was listening in. He said he had already fixed his JC-77 that was afflicted with the same symptoms, and that he was actively looking for a 120 as he was starting to play out more and was hoping for some more oomph. Long story short, I traded my crackling, scratchy 120 for a perfectly performing 77, dropped 30 pounds in the process, and ended up with a little beauty that fits better in the corner of the living room. I am going to try the mid-tone pot trick tonight. I do love the way this thing just sings clean and true when you need to, but is a squawky little vixen if you hop on her.
