I still have a Teisco Checkmate 88 amp....purchased as my first amp in 1969.
God-awful SS amp with two crappy 8" speakers.
Upgraded the speakers in the 80's with a pair of 8" Speco Alnico's.
That upgraded the amp from God-awful....to just plain awful.
