All too true. My first band's bass player in the early nineties had a Mark IV head and cab that was LOUD as hayell, but sounded like dookey. I thought I was rid of that beast until a month ago when my new bass player showed up with the same damn amp! I hope he doesn't take my continual denigration of that toneless hunk o' crap personally. Oy!
