Hello everyone....last thursday I recieved a 52 reissue on my doorstep...I've always wanted one..and finally pulled the trigger. I think I got a good deal...1147$ from music 123....slightly blemished but new with some pre-made pickguard scratches and one very minor ding...but regardless..all the case candy unopened..nicely set up...and nice playing guitar.

I once owned a black american standard tele from about 92 or 93...but I've always loved the look of the 52.

for reference I play it thru a Dr. Z maz 18 combo...and my other main guitars are a 18 year old Gibson es-347 I bought new...and also a mim Robert Cray sunburst strat....I've owned tons of strats and the occassional les paul here and there....but I've pretty happy with what I have now..but always want to add more, ofcourse!


I have a Hombrew tweed 4x10 bassmen that I built a few years ago...that I'm looking forward to gettin some new tubes and biasing it the give the tele a run thru.

anywho...I do have a question....is there a difference, other than the slotted pegs on the 52's tuners to other vintage styled tuners, like on the Robert cray strat....I mean that guitar was about 500 bucks less...just wondered if there was a qualitly difference between the two.....they look pretty much identical...just wondering?

well...I've managed to dribble my first beer on the tele..lol....guess it's a keeper
