70 Tele rewind update

Got the PUP last week, finally got a chance to try it out tonight. The guy rewinding it had to order the correct wire to make it to original specs, which he about refused to do anything else. I wanted to do a tap and get a 6k and a 7.5k, he said not to waste the old PUP doing that, so I listened to him.

So instead of putting it in a new build, I pulled out my Fralin and put it in it's place. I guess I know what a 1970ish Tele Neck PUP sounds like now. And the Fralin is not very close to that tone.

It s way more funkified sounding, very scooped mids, and to the thin side but with good bass. It does not ring and chime like the Fralin.
But the Fralin has a 'More' tone to it, and this rewind does not. Much more robust the Fralin.

I started with the same height that the Fralin was, and it was overpowered by the Bridge PUP when used together. So I raised it higher than I usually would have and got it to 95% output of the Fralin.

Question, It is mounted in the wood, not he PG. If I put in a PG with screw adjustment holes and mounted in the PG, how would that change the character of the tone??

Thanks
