I saw Buddy twice, once with Emmylou Harris and he was fine as a supporting musician. As far as him fronting his own band, I was underwhelmed. As a performer, he seemed really green up there and I wasn't crazy about the tunes. Maybe he had an off night. Seems like a nice guy though, and I certainly don't begrudge his, or anyone elses success. More power to him. His opening act that night, Al Anderson (formerly of NRBQ) got up on stage with just a steel string guitar and his voice and I was blown away by how good he was.
