generally as the traditional tele bridge pickup is affixed to the bridge using conductive metal screws if the bridge pickup itself is shielded - the bridge already is. In that case you may get a ground loop with the extra wire.

If the bridge pickup isn't shielded then you might consider a copper foil shield in the cavity and let the bridge overlap that. Then ground the shield. You can also solder a wire to small patch of copper foil and tape that to the bottom of the pickup being sure that at least 1 of the screws makes contact.
