lawrence cable question...

i picked up the guitar cable package, with jacks, from bill and becky a few years ago and really like them a lot. good quality, good price and great people who run a wonderful family business. the cables have lasted and sound, imho, superior for clarity and tone. ive been using them for about 2+ years.

the reason im writing this post is that i have had one problem with them... on 2 different occasions the tip of the 1/4 inch plug has pulled apart from the longer barrel. both times it ended up stuck... once in a distortion pedal, and last night, in the input jack on my carvin guitar. it has been hard to remove as there is only a small stem that protrudes from inside the tip. i was able to remove the tip from inside the input jack on the pedal fairly easily. the carvin will be much harder as the jack is totally enclosed and the tip is down inside the jack... a very thin pair of needle nose pliers will be needed or perhaps a thin hemostat or tweezers of some sort.

my question is: has anyone else experienced this problem or am i abusing these cables in some fashion? i dont think im very rough on my equipment but who knows...

but, if this is an intermittent occurance with their cables, im sure bill and becky would want to know and correct this problem. i was able to retrieve the tip and refasten it to the barrel with some super glue. that particular cable i put on my pedalboard as a semi permanent connection between pedals as to not be pulling in/out but maybe once or twice a year. the jack/cable in question is another jack/cable and is used regularly between guitar and volume pedal, in and out a few times a week at gigs.

thanks all.

btw, please continue to support the lawrences and their great pups, cables and business!
