I don't see a scam here. Looks like somebody's not as familiar with guitars as they should be to be selling this type of item. However, he does mention that it's been modified. He's just got the description of the neck pickup wrong.
My guess is that this was someone's player way back when, and when the neck went bad they put on what was available.
Just because someone's selling an old guitar that's been modified doesn't automatically make it a scam.
