To be fair, you can only really see Buddy at the end of the solo but he does nothing to go back into the rhythm strumming and tone. And I can see any pedals, if such things existed back then?

I've just noticed that it's a different video of the same show and I agree, that is definitely Buddy Holly and the Crickets playing live! Awesome!
