i have had ten teles or so ... mid-60s fender to late-90s fender, and some non-fenders
american standard tele pups are the worst ... they have too much gain and little or no high end
i like dimarzio, duncan, or fender custom shop vintage type tele pups ...sure, not tons of nuclear fat/massive blazing output, but that's not what a tele is usually about
that's it imho
i like a basically articulete, clean twang from teles, made from '52-'84
