My JV Strat is stock
My Les Paul was stock
My G&L ASAT Classic is stock
My Washburn HB35s was stock
My cheapie 80's Squire Strat is stock

I did change out the pups in a 50's classic tele and still sold it anyway because the swap still didn't get it where I wanted it.

I like to keep them stock. For me, PUP swap is only a last resort on a guitar I otherwise love and then after I have exhausted other options to get it just right - guitar adjustments, amp settings. It just seems like a tail chasing exercise to me.

Now if you don't mind spending the dough and trying a bunch of PUPS to find what you want - swapping's probably pretty cool - talk about options.

Whatever the approach, getting the sound you want is what matters. That said, I am thinking about a PUP change on my JV for a fatter, bolder sound but I'm not quite there yet. Love the guitar but I think it can be much better. Fralin Blues Specials anyone?
