Well, I didn't press the herringbone pieces very tightly, in order to leave a little room for expansion. Time will tell how it acts. I don't think it will be a big problem, as long as everything gets sealed well. I wasn't expecting the coloration on the lighter wood. Freaked me out. That's the same wood from the neck. Now I wonder what that will do. ;)
