We don't need no steenking design ability!
This is a blessing, if you think about it the right way. It makes you realize how sublime the original Telecaster design was and is. A lot of late 40's and early 50's design was not that good.
Otherwise, this is basically the fault of the late Dr. Hofmann, I suppose.
Good thing this chap never went into 4-H or animal husbandry. He'd have created a six legged two headed dairy cow by now.
