Check out My Custom 2x10 Mini-Stack
My main amp is a Rivera Clubster 25 1X10, so I was looking for a 1x10 cabinet that would fit on top for a nice little punchy portable mini stack.
I couldn't really find anything I liked from the major cabinet builders, so I posted an ad on Portland Craig's List and got a great reply from a guy named Gary Johnson, a contractor who was interested in starting to build amps and cabinets on the side. He offered to built my cab as his maiden project, working together on the design elements.
I think you'll agree the finished product is a real beauty with a great vintage vibe. It's constructed of dovetailed radiata pine, with mahogany inserts on the front and back. The porthole-style back was an idea I stole from the Bad Cat Mini Cat extension cab. The finish is a hand-rubbed amber shellac, with three coats of Epiphane's Rubbed Effect varnish. The antique radio grill cloth and leather handle I got from Antique Electronics Supply. It's loaded with an Eminence Ramrod, which paired with the Weber Ceramic Signature 10S in the Clubster gives a great mix of US and British tones. A very big sound in two very small packages.
Gary was pleased enough with the results of the project that he is willing to take other custom orders, so if anyone's interested just let me know and I'll set you up with him. He's a great guy with excellent ideas and communication.
