I imagine you have some frustration there. I had an experience with a medium-sized ad agency...I recognized some images they were using, and asked if they were royalty free (I knew they weren't). The agency rep said, "We usually just use whatever we want. If we get a C&D letter, then we'll pull 'em."

Great ethics in the world these days.
