I make a point of using every bit of gear Ive got live! Ive even used my two watt microcube, 1980's 5 watt torque practise amp and Champion 110 Fender practise amp in gigs, the latter very often.
Now its Vox Pathfinder 15r and Roland Cube 60.
OP said it right, your audience doesnt care. I have no budget and SS does the trick for me. Maybe one day!
