Plugging into the new jack will turn off the 4 ohm internal speaker and activate the external 8 ohm speaker. Even amp dummies like me could figure that one out.

Or they could make an extension box with an RCA cable out (to plug into the speaker out of the amp), that runs an 8 ohm 12" speaker (in the extension box) in parallel with a 2:1 transformer (located in the extension cab) that is wired to an RCA jack (for the 8" inside the GA-5 to plug back into).
I think - that would drive the 4 ohm stock speaker (transformed to 8 ohm) in parallel with an 8 ohm 12" extension speaker - resulting in a 4 ohm load for the amp.
1 external box, two cables, impedence match and spread the sound out with both speakers.
Anyone think that would work?
