Personally I hear no difference in sound between a maple and a rosewood fretboard. The difference is in the aesthetics, and the maple having a finished surface IMHO.
Both the 60's Classic and the CS '67 Tele have the post-'67 (AKA "modern") wiring, and I'm certain that Robbie's tele had the same.
I've had two '65 Telecasters, and the 60's Classic comes VERY close to the originals. If you learn a bit of Robbie's technique and style, a 60's Classic will do the job (as will most Teles actually).
