To me it's more logical to put everything before distortion/overdrive. I mean, even the effects loop is before your power tubes... and this is where we all wish we had the most distortion, right? It's what I use an overdrive for, to push my amp into a little bit more breakup.
Although, maybe a Fuzz is different? Lance brought over a couple for me to try the other day and told me to put them up front... Now, I'm thinking about that too. Though I do remember reading something somewhere about fuzzes wanting a strong signal?
Distortion/Overdrive is usually next to last in my chain (not that it's a huge chain), I currently have my delay afterwards, though I may play with that some (now that I think about it). I may stick my distortion in at the very last and see what it sounds like for a while.
Of course, the bottom line is, we all want to be rebels and do our own thing! So, do what sounds best to you, of course!
