I'm new here and have been lurking for a while. Great place to be!!
I'm a strat owner since the late 80s and recently discovered the teles. Based on some unformal reviews read here and other forums, I went and try the hwy 1 which I like, a few MIM and finally the AM Std. I thought the hwy 1 and the AMstd were pretty close on my wish list but I really did not like the finish.
I then went to the AM std which I just love, in part because of the bridge simply because it is not that much different than what I'm used to (strats). The finish is great, the neck is awsome to my liking and it sounds like a tele.
I like classic/vintage specs on most guitars but man... I won't be in the way of evolution. This just makes our instruments that much better, all the time and in a few years another tele will become the new thing that we will discuss.
In 2028, the 08 AMstd will be a fine vintage intrument..
