I asked this question in another threat, but somehow the discussion concentrated on finishes while I'd have liked to discuss the general quality of the guitar.
I live in germany, the thin skins are not available here, so if I want one, I'd have to order in the US. I was considering a MIM Classic 50s (they are available in good old europe) when I discovered the thin skins 55.
What do you think: Is the overall quality of the guitar that much better to justify the price difference (about 1.2 x the price of the MIM) and the risk of ordering oversea?
I'd rather get a guitar that will be a companion for many years than save a few hundreds.
