FWIW, mine
only farts in the blackface model, and then only when my Tele is on the neck pickup. Bridge PU is fine, as is either PU in any other model. Volume doesn't have to be up all that high.
I guess "reasonable" varies from one person to the next, but I'm surely no metalhead. Thought it was something wrong with the amp at first, but then discovered others have similar symptoms.
Stiil a small compromise for me given the amp's other virtues.
