Tried the Carbon Copy along side my old DD3 last night and it basically proved what I was expecting, the CC is warmer and more organic sounding especially with the modulation engaged. For my needs the contest goes to the MXR Carbon Copy. That said though... the DD3 is still a nice pedal and isn't totally sterile sounding as Digital Delays go, it has it's place too.

BTW, I didn't have any problem with the REGEN knob, it worked perfectly. I was using an old Boss adapter for power(the guy at GC said a Boss adapter would work fine) and the power crapped out after a couple minutes and the CC went dead. I was thinking I'd have to take the pedal back but tried it with a 2nd Boss adapter and it worked fine/no problem. That's the 1st time I ever had a Boss adapter go bad.
