Congrats on the new guitar!
My '72 Custom RI has become my favorite guitar...probably all time fave at this point. I bought it at a GC in Washington after I left Alaska in a motorhome and was wandering the earth. It had some issues and I got it for $320. Stripped the neck and gave it a tru-oil finish, leveled the frets, and it was good to go. Eventually swapped the pots out for 500K, after some advice from Terry Downs. Now I just love this guitar. Spanky tele tone from the bridge and the widerange makes a great slide pup.
