You might have used laminating resin, which does have a brown tint - surfboard polyester is ever so slightly blue tinted and doesn't go brown at all. Epoxy does though! It only gets hot if you put too much catalyst in. At 1% catalyst it's barely above ambient. Best of all it doesn't shrink and have the sparkles raise and wreck the finish, which is a problem with this method.
But most of the joy is in the journey, not the destination!
