Hey, wierdOne and psychetelec, take a deep breath. It's tough and scary right now and, yeah, you are likely in for a few sleepless nights.

The good news is threefold

A) You're conscientious enough to be concerned about your wife - you would be surprised at how little accomodation or attention some men give their pregnant partners. This will take you a long way.

B) People and babies are remarkably resilient creatures. When things seem their worst, there's a secondary gas tank that will kick in for you.

C) The long nights do not last forever. Some babies take months, some days, but eventually peace reigns supreme. Our first screamed non-stop for three days when we brought him home. I thought I was going to lose my mind. the second was as mellow as a bowl of 'nanner pudding. So, you never know what you're gonna get.

So hang in there guys. And when you feel at wit's end don't be afraid to allow yourself a minute to get your composure. It's better to put the baby down on the floor and count backwards from 60 than to let your blood boil over.
