She did change the words, but so what? Why do a cover just like the original? The blues is the same lines over and over, mixed, matched, altered.
Joan Baez is always changing lyrics to fit her style. "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down" and "Salt of the Earth" are two she does a nice job on.
Bobby Darin's "Mack the Knife" is another fun one - can you imagine Bertolt Brecht saying: "Oh, baby, right now" - even in German?
Besides - look what George Harrison did to the lyrics of "He's So Fine": replaced every single word! Turn-about is fair play.
I always fix up other people's lyrics. Life's too short.
