Don't have any actual horror stories myself, but I was once in a band that had the potential for some. We had an organist with a Hammond B3 and a keyboard player/guitarist with a Rhodes, and me with my 85lb MACE combo. Lugging that stuff around, on to the van, sometimes up and down stairs, was always perilous (and back-breaking).
