Afterthought - since I've already mentioned five of my seven amps, I might as well mention a sixth... Off-the-wall choice, this one, which is a Gallien-Krueger 206MLE. Two six-inch speakers in a tiny metal cabinet, built-in stereo chorus, compression, reverb and 4-band active EQ. VERY full sound that takes people greatly by surprise. The overdrive channel's usable but not the greatest, but the clean side sparkles and there's plenty of volume available even without the extension speakers that allow the full 60 watts per side stereo output. Sounds good at lower volumes too. Again, only available used. Some say the earlier 250ML's even better - I wouldn't know.
My seventh amp you don't want to know about - a 1970s Cornell Big Wimp 1 x 10, one of very few made and probably none went to the USA.
But of all my suggestions I'd put the Tech 21 Trademark 60 in first place, just a hair ahead of the Roland Blues Cube BC-60 1 x 12.
