I did some research here on the TDPRI about doing this very thing (I think a pot of black coffee was suggested also?). The idea of trying this scares me a bit!

I do want a white pickguard for another Custom down the track and I do know how I can screw things up when attempting something as tricky as this. This will be my final option if I can't find what I'm after.

Warmoth is my next stop! I have sent them an email before buying this one asking about their pickguards. Theirs are made, unfortunately for their own bodies and don't retro-fit Fender bodies apparently. They do however have pickguard blanks and I think this is what I'm going to have to go with?

I sent this seller 3 messages through eBay asking if they could cut me a 4-ply Custom moto pickguard (they currently only do '72 Deluxes and '72 Thinlines). I finally got a response that told me that they would do it, but the whole thing would be done outside of eBay. I think I'll just wait until they actually have them on offer (if they ever do?)
Warmoth it is!!!
