Rhino -
Interesting post! As most who have replied, I am waaaaaaay past your age. My experience is as follows:
1. Try like crazy to keep your weight in check. When I quit smoking, I gained 30 lbs and have carried it for 20 years. I can't shake it - yet.
2. Do everything possible to keep the blood pressure in check.
3. Don't ever start to think your age. I.e., as a 60 year-old, I still think of myself as much younger - it may be delusional, but I still enjoy going to concerts even if I'm the oldest guy there (although, you're always safe at a Dick Dale gig).
4. Enjoy your maturity! At some point, you'll catch yourself thinking that you have the answer to things - that you really DO understand life. And the truth is - you really do! All that learning is on the verge of turning into wisdom - enjoy it!
As the old saying goes - We all have to grow old, but we don't necessarily have to grow up!
