I turned 41 a couple of weeks ago. I guess I've been lucky because despite a pack-a-day smoking habit and a fondness for alcohol, people still tell me I look much younger. I'm 186 cm for 78-80 kg (that's about 6'1" for 12.5 st) and my blood pressure is good (about 125/85 and 70bpm heart beat at rest).

I do eat relatively healthily (and in moderate amounts, which is probably just as important) and get some exercise (i.e. I don't own a car, I swim a medley 1000m once or twice a week and play my guitar standing up about 5 hours per week). I also have a healthy sex life with my partner.

Having said that, I am increasingly aware of the little aches and pains that come with age - that has to be accepted. There are advantages with age too: wisdom, mellowness, experience. And, at risk of sounding sexist, I'm pretty happy to be a mature male. With age our faces acquire character, which I think is cool.
