You'd need to drill a hole for another octal socket, but that's doable. If the PT has the 5 volt tap, you could use a GZ34, but if not, you could use Weber's Copper Cap version. It has the delayed warm up, that would help the other tubes.

Excellent idea!
For that matter, there may be room in the chassis to just fasten the Weber Copper cap on its side in the chassis and solder to the pins. No hassle with the socket.
