A far lower cost way would be to buy a Champion 600 or VJ or Harley Benton or Gretsch 5 Watt amp or Blackheart and rip out the printed circuit board and replace with a vintage turret board and install a couple of sockets. I would estimate $50 to $100 for the best components.
