Thinking I wanted to try a thinline I picked up a Squire thinline last night. Yes that is right, another guitar. I got it for $270 out the door. It is black. So I brought it home to compare to the MIM std. I almost got this guitar in the first place because I thought it sounded good in the store but ultimately got the std. So now I have both at home to compare for a few days. I really only plan on keeping one. I played the thinline first and I have to say it sounds really good. It has a raw sounds compared to the std, thinner though. I like the short scale, 7.5" radius neck, rosewood fretboard, and the fact that it is lighter. But once I played the std again I thought the std sounded fuller, and more rounded, just better really. I know it is hard to describe this but I hope you know what I mean. I think the squire is really put together well. The fit and finish is comparable to the std. I almost want to say it just comes down to the pick ups but I dont know enough about electric guitars. Either way the bottom line is that they are both fun.
