I followed Terry's layout in his Blue Tele thread when I added a middle pickup. It quacks pretty good for a Tele. I couldn't tell you if does any better or worse than a straight-mounted middle pickup, but I figured if it was good enough for Mr. Downs, then it was more than good enough for me.
