I've got to come up for air! lol
Nice work!
I stumbled across this board about a week ago and have been so busy being mesmorized by all the build threads that I havent gotten around to introducing myself-- but I will later lol.. Heck, it took me 2 days just to get through Buck's "emerald-caster" postings lol
I'm an "advanced-beginner" woodworker, so these may be dumb questions, but I gotta ask anyway lol..
1. I know you all use templates to get your bodies, cuts, etc so smooth, but how do you get your templates so precise? Yours are sweet! Those inside cavities look computer milled!
2. As I understand it, you took basically a solid body and "gutted" it? Turning all that sweet innocent wood into sawdust? Seems a shame to waste that much wood, but I guess there is no way around it, huh? I read a couple of Mr. Rice's threads where he cut out the two wings and glued them to the center brace. Is that just another way to arrive at the same place, or is that because that is all he could do with what he had (I should have asked him, but it slipped my mind lol)
Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge with all the rest of us through your postings and pix
