I wonder what differences there are between the whammy bar and hard tail versions of the Squier Bullet Strats, besides the obvious?
For instance, Rob, I think you mentioned how chunky the neck is. Mine is definitely not chunky. It's probably the shallowest neck I own. Not Ibanez speed metal, but fairly shallow. Also, if weight is a consideration, the hardtails ought to run lighter without the tremolo block. I picked mine out as the best sounding and lightest of four I tried at Guitar Center in December. It weighs 6 lbs, 2 oz. on my digital scale. I suppose a thin neck has something to do with that as well as the hard tail.
Also, it looks like the maple portion of the neck is made of more than one piece. The others I looked at were that way too.
