I remove the 22nd fret with fret pulling pliers, fill the fret slot with a CYA glued slat of wood stained as near to the fingerboard color as possible, run the neck heel back on stationary sanding wheel to remove most of the hang-over, then finish up with hand sanding and some clear coats.
