When you start up limewire it takes awhile to connect to all the other people using the limewire at the time you load yours up. MIne takes about 1 minute on a cable modem so Id say about 5-7 mins on a dial up before your fully connected.
Look down on the bottm left hand corner there is a signal strength gauge there wait till its full strength before you search or download.
Be sure your system is really protected cause there are millions of virus programs inside limewire renamed to look like something else.
Never try to install any program that says its name is setup.exe that you got off limewire chances are its a virus.
