Don't hang it on a wall that gets direct sunlight, as it could fade or dry the wood. And make sure the wall doesn't get hot from the sun beating on the outside of the house and transferring the heat through the wall to the guitar. My wife had an apartment who's interior wall was too hot to touch during the summer.

Here's how I hung my guitar over an unused fireplace using a hook, a length or coated aircraft cable, and some standard aluminum crimps to fashion loops to go on the strap hooks:

The advantage is there is no weight on the neck.
