Casinos for live music
Howdy,
I live in adjacent Bossier City. The Casinos have lots of big name entertainers (recently Kenny Loggins). Check them out for music.
As for restaraunts, try Shanes Acadiana Crawfish on So. Youree Dr or Savoies on E. 70th (not too far away from Shane's). Now that's if you like Crawfish! Shanes has killer BBQ, FYI. There's a good Japanese steakhouse on Benton Rd. in Bossier City called Kobe. They put on a whale of a show as they prepare your meal! And yes, the waitresses tend to be pretty at Kobe.
The locals envy Dallas and it's Mexican food, so Shreveport/Bossier City is really a Tex/Mex food town. BTW, the nearest major city isn't New Orleans or even Baton Rouge, it's Dallas, which is conveniently just down I-20. For Tex.Mex, try Nicky's (several locations) or Trejo's on Airline in Bossier City. Have fun here and good luck to your Buffs!

PS: For cool guitars check out Shreveport Music on E.70th and Shreve Audio on Marshall St., just south of downtown Shreveport. Shreve Audio is more of mail order place, but they do have a showroom.
